The Biograph mMR is the first fully integrated whole-body system, combining magnetic resonance imaging and positron emission tomography. Compared to using two separate systems, the time needed for a patient to be examined may be reduced by nearly half. Despite the fact that two large systems have become one, the device looks like a conventional magnetic resonance scanner. The floating patient table and the white coloring lend the system a comparatively small and light appearance. Soft, rounded lines convey a confidence inspiring impression that may reduce patient anxiety prior to the examination.
