Ever since the brilliant Carl Scheufelen introduced art paper into Europe in 1892, the quality of paper from the Lenningen region in southwest Germany has been second to none – worldwide. Many other inventions from Germany have also left their mark on the world, even in language. This amazing 2014 wall calendar for the paper company focuses on this phenomenon – from “rucksack” to “kindergarten”, from “Bauhaus” to “schnapps” and “diesel”, from “glockenspiel” to “edelweiss”: it’s “wunderbar”! It’s just as wonderful that the Scheufelen calendars have long since achieved cult status.
