The German Steam Locomotive Museum includes the former locomotive depot, a coal yard, and the surrounding railway village. The challenge was thus to form these individual components into one self-contained, vivid experience. A new prominent Corporate Design provokes focusing and awakens attention. Theme islands tell the story of the former locomotive depot and clarify its social significance for the location and people. A technical round tour illustrates what is hidden beneath the steel skin of the fascinating titans. The steam locomotive as technical masterpiece becomes tangible and comprehensible; technical history becomes living experience.
