Sonar by Patricia Urquiola – a collection of innovative countertop bowls, a wall-hung and a free-standing washbasin in SaphirKeramik and a bathtub – is the third generation of Laufen’s SaphirKeramik. The surfaces, inspired by the natural phenomenon of sound waves and their relationship with water, take on a three-dimensional aspect, while conserving the slender lines, which lend the products an attractive lightness. The rigorous geometry accentuates the ascetic form and optimizes water flow. The inclined surface of the washbasin’s bottom leads the water gently toward a transverse incision that conceals the waste with an elegant gesture.
