First, the inspiration for the design of the hotel comes from the hexagonal diamond elements in the building façade. A fine diamond is made through a long process: the crude ore is mined, extracted and refined until the ultimate formation of precious stones. Second, the term "yuppie" was introduced during the 1980s, and generally refers to individuals who are highly educated, live in big cities, lead a rich life, set the trend, dress well, and are highly motivated, confident, calm, and elegant. Therefore, we hope to create this InterContentental Beijing Sanlitun into a "new yuppie" style hotel.
