The new Rosenthal store concept in Munich designed by Kilian Schindler builds a unique bridge between the old and very traditional process of manufacturing porcelain and a very modern interior concept store. The production of porcelain, its matte and shiny surfaces and certain elements of the manufacturing itself have significantly influenced the design. The floor for example has been designed in the look of raw porcelain paste. Gold and stainless steel elements add shine, and play on elegant porcelain decors. A porcelain curtain and a plate wall complete the interior with sculptural elements that create the link between art and porcelain.
