The Grand Prix 5000 marks a new era in road cycling. Its predecessor, the Grand Prix 4000 S II and earlier variants, has dominated the market for 14 years. It established itself as the benchmark in the market by regular test wins in the cycling magazines. The goal was to make the best tire even better, and combine new technologies the market has not seen before, e.g. the LazerGrip and ActiveComfort Technology. Both set a statement and do not only make a contribution re. the technical aspect, but also in terms of the design. With the LazerGrip the surface of the tire turns into a velvet-like structure and breaks with existing rules in tire design.
