This is FUJIFILM's first portable x-ray system designed for use in home healthcare. The use of super-sensitive imaging plates has allowed the x-ray output and battery to be reduced drastically. Consequently, FUJIFILM has created a small, ultralight (3.5 kg), and easily operable handheld x-ray system. This device may reduce the physical burden on physicians/technicians in terms of transfer and preparation. It also reduces radiation exposure for patients. Devices such as this are likely to find great utility in a rapidly aging society. The body is colored silver and black, producing a modern attractive appearance.
