I imagine having a baby born prematurely can be a very perplexing thing. While the child stays under medical care for large portions of time, it only bodes well for the child to spend a good amount of time with its parents. The Neobirth incubator not only provides a medically safe haven for the infant, its design also allows the child and parent to interact (even though remotely) and spend quality time together. The Incubator comes mounted on a hydraulic piston that allows the incubation chamber to be lowered or raised so that mom, dad, and baby are on the same level. The Neobirth obviously is a medical device first, and makes arrangements for all procedures and peripherals. The overhead lamp not only can be used as an observation light, but as a phototherapy lamp too (used to prevent Jaundice in newborns). A swiveling Touchscreen LCD display hovers over the incubation chamber displaying relevant information. The Incubation chamber also makes drawer space for storing medical instruments or documents. The entire Incubator unit is also mounted on caster wheels, so the baby can be moved from one location to another, cradle and all! Designer: Parin Sanghvi
