In terms of philosophy, people draw a lot of parallels between Muji and Apple. Both create products that are worth worshiping, and that celebrate minimalism and the removal of all clutter. The Muji Aluminum light draws one more parallel, being crafted out of aircraft grade aluminum with the anodized finish we’re so familiar with. The light’s unique design allows it to be used as a torch as well as a lamp, by virtue of a simple sliding sleeve that converts the light from a point-source to an area light. The product even comes with a fabric hoop making it easy to suspend as well as carry around. Everything about the product has a twofold purpose, which I absolutely love.
